Welcome To the Upcycled Soap Company
š§¼ From Rock Bottom to Rebirth: Why I Started The Upcycled Soap Company
By Lisa Carroll ā Founder, The Upcycled Soap Company

Lisa Carroll ā founder, circular economy advocate, and proud soapmaker.
Sometimes, the most beautiful things are born from what we throw away.
The Upcycled Soap Company didnāt begin with a polished pitch or shiny business plan. It began during one of the hardest times in my lifeāwhen I was emotionally, spiritually, and physically burned out. Iād spent years bouncing from job to job, always feeling like I didnāt quite belong. I was tired of chasing work that didnāt align with my values and a system that didnāt seem to care.
Then, one day, while flipping through an old Tooheys New cookbook, I stumbled across a recipe for beer soap. It was quirky. Unexpected. And something in me lit up.
I had a vet bill to pay for my beautiful Border Collie, Bailey, and some over-fermented beer lying around. So I tried making a few bars. To my surprise, people loved themānot just for how they worked, but for what they represented.
That moment sparked what would become The Upcycled Soap Companyāa place where passion, purpose, and sustainability collide.
š± What We Do
We donāt just make soap. We make statements.
Each bar is handcrafted using rediscovered resourcesāover-fermented beer, leftover wine, fruit peels, coffee grounds, and other by-products that would otherwise be tossed aside. We work with local businesses to give these materials a second life and turn them into something useful, beautiful, and kind to the planet.

Upcycled soap bars made with rediscovered ingredients.
Weāre not here to greenwash or follow the crowd. Weāre here to break the cycle of wasteāand build something better.
š What We Believe

Radical Transparency
No gatekeeping. No fluff. We share what goes into our soapsāand why. -
Creative Courage
We believe business can be playful, weird, heart-led, and world-changing.
